The arrival experience

From Samaná to Villa Anacaona

The closest international arrival point to the estate also delivers the most effortless ground transfer. Leaving El Catey, your private vehicle travels west through the lush Samaná landscape toward Nagua before joining the north-coast road for the final approach to Cabrera.

It is a compact, tropical introduction to the region: palms, green countryside and glimpses of the Atlantic gradually give way to Cabrera’s quieter coastal character. For guests arriving by private aviation or on a convenient international connection, this is the shortest runway-to-villa experience.

The scenic arrival

From Santo Domingo to Villa Anacaona

Although longer than the north-coast airport transfers, the journey from Las Américas can become part of the Villa Anacaona experience itself. After leaving Greater Santo Domingo, the route turns northeast onto the Autovía del Nordeste, trading the capital for broad green landscapes and remarkably open stretches of highway.

The road crosses the extraordinary Los Haitises region, where dense tropical vegetation, wetlands and dramatic limestone formations create one of the island’s most memorable overland approaches. Once outside the capital, traffic is generally light compared with the major urban corridors, giving the transfer a calm, almost cinematic rhythm before continuing through the northeast toward Nagua and the coast at Cabrera.

For guests whose home city offers a better nonstop schedule into SDQ, the additional road time can therefore feel less like a compromise and more like a private scenic transfer across one of the Dominican Republic’s most beautiful landscapes.

*Published road-distance figures shown where a current route source was available. Transfer times are planning estimates and can vary with traffic, weather, road works and the villa’s exact Orchid’s Bay pickup point. Airline routes, frequencies and individual flight numbers are seasonal and can change. Because a route can use different flight numbers by day and season, this guide identifies the operating airline and route; guests should verify the exact flight number for their travel date before ticketing.
Our preferred scheduled gateway

Puerto Plata makes arrival beautifully simple.

POP keeps guests on the north coast, avoiding the longer cross-island transfer from Santo Domingo or Punta Cana while retaining useful nonstop connections to major U.S. gateways.
